In the mid-1990s, our founder Bill Whyte worked as a carpenter. His hands endured harsh conditions during the cold New England winters, often becoming split and cracked. In search of relief, he created a simple herbal balm using beeswax and olive oil. This balm worked wonders for his hands, leading him to share it with others. And so, Badger history was born.

Our product lineup includes mineral sunscreens that are safe for the reef, as well as lip balms, moisturizers, and face care products. We also prioritize sustainability by using ocean waste plastic and implementing plastic-neutral packaging through our partnership with the ReSea Project. Our bottles are made from 100% recycled plastic, and our tops contain 25% recycled plastic.

We understand that baby care is a top concern for parents. Rest assured, our baby washes are hypoallergenic and safe for sensitive skin. However, they are not tear-free due to being true soaps. They have been pediatrician tested and deemed non-irritant and non-sensitizing, making them suitable for babies, kids, and adults. As always, consult with your pediatrician before using any product on newborns.

If you are curious about the ingredients in our baby washes, they are made by saponifying coconut and sunflower oils with potassium hydroxide. The potassium hydroxide is completely used up during the soap-making process and is not present in the finished product. We take pride in creating environmentally friendly and cruelty-free products. Our baby washes contain mostly organic ingredients, are gluten-free, GMO-free, and certified organic by NSF ANSI 304.

At Badger, sustainability is a key focus. We have created Compact by Design, which identifies products with more efficient designs. By removing excess air and water, we reduce packaging and lower carbon emissions. We believe that small changes can lead to significant reductions in carbon emissions.
